Candice K Moore is a contemporary oil painter based in Long Beach, California. Her work explores memory, nostalgia and longing through the language of realism, often focusing on familiar objects and scenes that carry the residue of personal or collective experience.

Working from observation and photographic reference, Moore is interested in the distance between an experience and the way it is remembered: the details that remain vivid, those that disappear, and the emotional weight that ordinary objects can accumulate over time. Her paintings occupy the space between specificity and recollection, rendering tangible subjects while pointing toward something less easily held.

Moore's practice is grounded in classical atelier drawing and painting methods. This technical foundation informs a contemporary body of work concerned with impermanence, sentimentality and the ways in which objects can become vessels for memory.

Her recent work includes a series of small-scale paintings based on vintage Las Vegas casino matchbooks from the 1950s through the 1980s, using imagery associated with gambling, fire and disappearance to consider risk, nostalgia, destruction and renewal.

Moore's work was included in Double Down at Zach Frank Gallery in Buffalo, New York in 2025.

She lives and works in Long Beach, California.
